In Romania there are many important and traditional dates that we celebrate.
The most important ones are :
1st March – MARTISOR : amulets with red-white thread (LUCKY CHARMS) are offered to women.
1st March – 9th March – BABELE (Old Lady Days): everyone (especially the girls and women) choose one of these days; the weather in that day shows how the year is going to be for that person. The legend goes that lady Dochia, as she was climbing a mountain, threw one by one, day by day, all her 9 sheepskin coats she was wearing ; in the last day (9th) she died and turned into a rock
9th March – MUCENICII (All Saints’Day) : this date has 2 traditions :
- The religious one, in which special food is prepared, it’s recommended to drink 40-44 glasses of wine (one for every saint martyr)and it’s the day when the souls of the ones who passed away are among us
- fires are set in every yard in order to purify the land ant to defeat the darkness
24th June – SANZIENELE( Dragaica): girls wear wreaths of flowers called Sanziana, then throw them on the village houses to bring them luck and show if they’ll get married the next year. Dragaica is supposed to be the goddess of wheat fields and married women.
The 1st of December is known as a traditional, but also official holiday as it is our national day. On this date in 1918, all the Romanian provinces (Moldova, Valachia, Transilvania, Bucovina, Basarabia and Dobrogea) united turning into the state of Romania.
On the 31st December we celebrate New Year’s Eve
The Romanians are an interesting and united nation, mode up of brave people. They are true patriots, smart, creative, full of life, and most of all, friendlyand hospitable.
In Romania sunt multe traditii importante pe care le sarbatorim.
Cele mai importante sunt :
1 Martie – MARTISOR : amulete din ata rosie – alba (MARTISOR) sunt oferite femeilor
1 Martie – 9 Martie – BABELE (ziua femeilor batrane): toata lumea (in special fetele si femeile) aleg una dintre aceste zile; vremea din ziua aceia arata cum va fi anul pentr acea persoana. Legenda spune ca Baba Dochia, in timp ce urca un munte, arunca unul cate unul, zi dupa zi, toate cele 9 cojoace din piei de oi pe care le purta; in ultima zi (ziua a noua) a murit si s-a transformat intr-o piatra.
9 Martie – MUCENICII (ziua tuturor sfintilor): aceasta sarbatoare are doua traditii :
- cea religioasa, in care se prepara mancaruri speciale, se recomanda sa bei intre 40-44 pahare de vin (unul pentru fiecare sfant martir), este ziua in care sufletele celor morti sunt printre noi
- cea populara in care sunt aprinse focuri in curte pentru a purifica pamantul si pentru a invinge intunericul
24 Iunie – SANZIENELE (dragaica) : fetele poarta coroane de flori numite sanziene, le arunca pe casele din sat pentru a adduce noroc si pentru a arata cu cine se vor marita anul viitor. Se spune ca Dragaica este zeita campurilor de grau si a femeilor maritate
1 Decembrie – este cunoscuta ca o sarbatoare, dar oficial este ziua noastra nationala. In aceasta zi in 1918, toate provinciile romanesti (Moldova, Valahia, Transilvania, Bucovina, Basarabia si Dobrogea) s-au unit pentru a crea statul Romania Mare
Pe 31 Decembrie sarbatorim ajunul anului nou
Romanii sunt o natiune interesanta si unita, facuta din oameni curajosi. Sunt adevarati patrioti, inteligenti, creativi, plini de viata si mai ales prietenosi si ospitalieri.
